The Death Sound
Bob Heavens
2007
This is an album about death and reasons for wanting to die. It's about not fitting in and how it makes me feel. At the same time, it's about trying to survive in an environment which is constantly trying to drain all non-human life within it, thereby killing every thing. It's about the love trying to keep me alive, and the possibilities of reproduction and whether or not people should choose so heavily in that respect.
Each song may have several stories, and may jump into many moods at once. The Death Sound is a noise collage of both protest songs and songs of love and hate. It's what my dreams would sound like if I could record them.
TDS was recorded mostly in and around the Werehouse, and the environments were recorded near the beaver hut on the edge of the woods, except for the verizon suicide song which was recorded at the base of the Great Tower which resides above all. Please contact me for handmade copies, which are beautiful and do exist in many places.
