A collection of Duke men's basketball memorabilia from the Blue Devils' national championship teams of the early 1990s is now up for bid at Goldin as part of its April Elite Auction.
Two rings from the personal collection of Duke big man Cherokee Parks, including a back-to-back national championship ring for the 1991-92 season, are being auctioned. Bidding for that ring, presented by Duke University, currently sits at over $10,000.
Parks played for the Blue Devils from 1992-1995.
“Basketball has been an incredibly blessed adventure. I played my entire career at the highest level, competing against the best players in the world, making friends, creating memories and collecting memorabilia along the way,” Parks said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to share several of these pieces with somebody else in hopes that they will enjoy these moments as much as I have.”
This won’t be the first time Duke rings have hit the market. Christian Laettner, perhaps the greatest player in Duke history, has sold both his title rings. In 2023, SCP sold his 1991 NCAA championship ring for $20,035 and his 1992 ring for $59,135. This month, SCP Auctions sold his “Dream Team” Hall of Fame induction ring ($5,663) as well.
In addition to Parks’ rings, his personal collection also includes a letter from Laettner, from when Parks was in high school and considering Duke for his college career. Parks' 1994 Final Four watch and Duke varsity letter certificate are also available.
Parks’ collection and other items in Goldin’s April auction will be available through May 4.
