Game. Set. Match.
The ball from the championship point of the 2025 U.S. Open men's final is up for auction at Sotheby's.
Carlos Alcaraz won his sixth grand slam and second U.S. Open title last Sunday in Queens, with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory over rival Jannik Sinner, whom he faced in the finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon this season.
Alcaraz delivered the final blow with a booming serve, that Sinner nicked with his racket, before the ball went flying into the stands.
According to the lot description, Sotheby's secured the ball onsite and authenticated it immediately following the match.
Last year, Sotheby's sold a ball used in the men's singles final from Alcaraz's first U.S. Open title, a four-set victory over Casper Ruud. That ball sold for $1,524.
This ball will likely crush that total, as it has already reached a $1,300 bid with buyer's premium.
Championship match balls haven’t really become a developed market yet. In June, Sothebys estimated the final point from Serena Williams’ 2013 U.S. Open victory would go for $30,000 to $50,000. It sold for $9,525.
The auction goes until Sept. 23.
