In the first auction of game-worn jerseys in the partnership between the Golden State Valkyries and MeiGray, 13 jerseys sold for a total of more than $30,000 — averaging $2,350 each Thursday night.
The top price came for Kaitlyn Chen’s white Heroine Edition jersey, which was worn in her WNBA debut, for $5,070. Chen had five points, one rebound and one assist in the Valkyries' 87-63 win over the Connecticut Sun on June 22.
“We are thrilled to work with MeiGray to bring authentic, game-worn Valkyries product to our fans,” Valkyries president Jess Smith said in a statement. “WNBA collectibles are certainly growing quickly, as the league continues its upward trajectory and encounters so many historic moments across expansion.”
As WNBA card have surged in popularity and price in recent years along with the increased attention surrounding the league, the league's game-worn jerseys and other memorabilia are now catching the eyes of more collectors.
“The collectors covet them because these players are stars,” Barry Meisel, MeiGray’s president and chief operating officer, said in a statement. “The WNBA’s time to join the world of game-worn jerseys has come.”
MeiGray previously sold a jersey worn by Chen in her first-ever game as a member of the Valkyries — a preseason contest in May 2025 — for $7,500 to a private collector, the company confirmed in a statement.
