Two robes worn by Joe Frazier during his trilogy of bouts against Muhammad Ali are set to hit the auction block at Bonham’s, with estimates for both in the six figures.
The first robe comes from the 1975 “Thrilla in Manila” fight and was worn by Frazier as he entered the ring.
The robe sold in 2008 for $40,000 and now has an estimate of $125,000-$150,000 with a starting bid of $75,000.
The second robe was worn at the weigh-in for “The Fight of the Century” in 1971 at Madison Square Garden. Frazier would go on to win the fight in 15 rounds, marking the first professional loss of Ali’s career.
The robe sold for $20,000 in 2008 and now has an estimate of $100,000-$120,000 with a starting bid of $50,000.
Bidding on both lots closes on Feb. 25.
