"Selling Sunset" reality star and president of The Oppenheim Group Jason Oppenheim has revealed that he is the buyer of John Riggins' Super Bowl XVII jersey.

Oppenheim bought the Super Bowl MVP jersey for $470,000, as it headlined the Super Bowl Live Auction conducted by Hunt Auctions.

"I would have gone higher," Oppenheim told ESPN, "a decent amount higher."

The $470,000 was already $270,000 more than the high estimate. He also bought Riggins' Super Bowl ring for another $105,750.

Oppenheim, a lifelong Washington fan, told ESPN he that Riggins' iconic 43-yard touchdown run in the 27-17 victory is the most important play in team history. Super Bowl XVII marked Washington's first Super Bowl in franchise history and Riggins ran for 166 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Oppenheim also told ESPN he intends to make the jersey and ring available for all Washington fans to see.

"I wanted to make sure these items were not controlled by someone who would hoard them, keep them from the fan base and have it as some type of investment opportunity," he said. "I don't feel I own these things; I feel they're owned by the fans. To be a custodian is an honor.
