Sports and trading card grader CGC has expanded operations in Munich to include full-time TCG grading, the company announced Monday.

First opened in 2023, CGC’s Munich office expects to trim turnaround times for European collectors alongside a rapidly-growing TCG market.

CGC’s grading team will be made up of employees relocating to Germany from the company’s headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, in addition to new locally trained graders.

Sports card submissions from European collectors will continue to be shipped to CGC’s facility in Sarasota.

"Grading TCGs full-time in Munich is an important step in our efforts to better serve the vibrant card collecting market in Europe,” Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) CEO Steve Eichenbaum said in a statement. “Our company has been in Germany since 2008, when we began offering services for coins, and over the years we have strengthened our commitment to the country by expanding our services to paper money, stamps and now cards.”

CGC parent company CCG first began grading coins in 1987 and expanded to cards in 2020. CGC Cards has graded more than 10 million items since.

According to GemRate, CGC Cards graded 4.92 million cards in 2025 for a 121% increase year-over-year.

Much of that growth was driven by Pokémon and other TCG, which made up roughly 4.22 million of CGC’s graded cards — a 116% increase over 2024.
