CGC will raise prices for grading in early 2026

New prices will take affect Jan. 6 and apply to comics, cards, video games

Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) announced price hikes across its comics, cards, video games and home-media categories Tuesday, with new fees set to take effective Jan. 6, 2026.

For the company’s card grading service:

  • Bulk tier will change from $14 to $15 per card.
  • Economy tier will change from $17 to $18 per card.
  • Standard tier will change from $45 to $55 per card.
  • Express tier will change from $85 to $100 per card.
  • Walkthrough tier will change from $275 to $300 per card.
  • Unlimited Value tier will change from $275 + 1% FMV to $300 +1% FMV.

The fee per card for its pack-pulled autograph add-on service will rise from $2 to $5.

Signature Series services will also go up, with standard tier rising from $65 to $70, Express tier from $110 to $125 and Walkthrough tier from $325 to $350.

For the company’s comic grading service:

  • Modern Bulk tier will change from $24 to $27, with the bulk minimum reduced from 50 to 25.
  • Modern tier will change from $27 to $30.
  • A new tier called Vintage Bulk will be introduced at $42 per book with a max value of $400 per book and a minimum of 25.
  • Vintage tier will change from $42 to $45.
  • High Value tier will change from $95 to $105.
  • The minimum for the Unlimited Value tier will change from $115 to $135.

The new fees apply to online submission forms completed on or after the Jan. 6 deadline. Submissions which arrive prior to that date at CGC’s headquarters will qualify for current pricing.
