Ahead of Cinnabon’s 40th anniversary later this month, the beloved food-court staple is honoring its 1980s roots with a line of merchandise inspired by the era which gave rise to the sugary, tasty desserts.
The highlight is the Bon Backpack, a limited-edition “totally tubular tribute to the ooey-gooey icon that started it all.” Fitted with a custom pocket shaped to carry a Cinnabon Roll and keep it warm throughout the day, it features a retro-inspired design meant to recall the good old days.
Also available are other retro-inspired pieces, including T-shirts, tank tops, tie-dye hoodies, pool floats and sticker sheets.
On Aug. 22, the day of the company’s birthday, rewards members will be able to purchase a Cinnabon Roll for $1.25 — the same price as when it debuted in 1985.
"Born in the '80s with an audacious dream to capture hearts with our decadent rolls, we are excited to extend this creative spirit to our fans with an unforgettable birthday experience,” Urvi Patel, chief brand officer at Cinnabon, told Media Post.
Earlier this year, Cinnabon partnered with ZURU Mini Brands on an array of collectible toys.
