Luxury coffee table book publisher Assouline began its sale Thursday of two editions of an authorized book celebrating 40 years of the Air Jordan brand.
The Ultimate Edition is hand-numbered to 1,000 copies and retails for $2,300.

The book comes in a tooled leather clamshell with the cover adorned with laser graphics reminiscent of the Jordan XX. It also contains an Italian silk scarf, and a custom box under the book reveals six rings.
The Classic Edition uses the same pictures as the Ultimate, but has none of the special touches. The tradeoff is it costs only $123.
The books promise to ship by the first week of November.
Unlike this Ultimate Edition, Michael Jordan did in fact sign 2,500 copies of “Rare Air,” a coffee table picture book he did with SI photographer Walter Iooss Jr. in 1993.
