Alternative investment platform Rally is selling shares for a collection of 10 game-worn LeBron James jerseys from his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Photo-matched by MeiGray, the initial public offering of “The King Collection” will consist of 50,000 shares for $10 each against a $500,000 market cap. The collection will officially release Friday at noon ET.
All 10 Lakers jerseys come from either the 2022-23 or 2023-24 seasons and capture a variety of key moments over James’ last two campaigns.
Jerseys from the week James scored his 40,000th point, his 109th career triple-double against the New York Knicks and an overtime thriller against Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks are among the 10 offered.
Rally is a platform that securitizes high-end collectibles and sells fractional shares to retail investors.
While eight of the 10 jerseys were worn once, two were used in multiple games. Jerseys are rarely worn multiple times in the modern NBA and are often swapped during halftime.
According to the offering’s investment memo, only 123 total James jerseys of any kind that have sold publicly have been photo-matched.
The memo also notes that the offering accounts for 19.6% of all game-worn James Lakers jerseys to surface publicly and 27% of conclusively photo-matched James Lakers jerseys sold publicly.
Rally notes that additional jerseys could be bundled into the current offering at a later date.
