PSA unveiled its comic and magazine grading program Monday, as advertised.
The grading company offered introductory special prices on the base level for lower value magazines and comics books ($400 or less). Modern books (1975-present) cost $25.99, $4 off the regular price, while vintage opened at $39.99, $5 off the normal price.
One major, unexpected change for collectors is that all magazine grading has a 75-day turnaround, a big difference from the 20-day turnaround originally announced.
A source with PSA told cllct the grader expected to have magazine slabs by Monday's launch, but the company ran into delays with the tariffs and won't have slabs specifically made for magazines until September.
PSA also unveiled a pressing service that allows collectors to have their wrinkles taken out of their comics of magazines before heading to grading. That service cost $11.99 for modern books and $29.99 for vintage.
As of now, if collectors chose the pressing option, it must apply to all the magazines or comics in each order. Orders cannot be separated out between pressed and non-pressed.
