An all-time online sales record for sports and trading card transactions was set in June, with more than $305 million spent on the hobby across the major auction houses and marketplaces.
According to Card Ladder’s Industry page, the $305.7 million total is the highest for a single month in the data tool’s history. That total tops the previous high of $303.22 million in March.
June’s total will likely continue to increase throughout early July as additional sales are added to the final tally.
The 5.2 million transactions logged by Card Ladder in June are the second-most recorded by the tool, trailing only March’s 5.6 million.
June’s record total was driven by more than $245 million in sales on eBay and more than $32 million in sales on Goldin. Fanatics Collect added another $27 million in sales across June.
According to Card Ladder, the highest sale for an individual card in June was the $1.16 million paid for a 2009-10 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual NBA Logoman of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant at Goldin.
That was June’s lone million-dollar sale.
Of the sales logged by Card Ladder for the month, six cards topped $500,000, 68 cards topped $100,000 and 239 topped $50,000.
The record-setting month arrives alongside new data from GemRate showing card grading was up 25% year-over-year with 12.4 million cards graded so far in 2025. Of those cards, 7.2 million were TCG or non-sports.
GemRate also reported 97 of PSA’s 100 most graded cards so far in 2025 were Pokémon.
