The perfect holiday gift for that special someone who deserves an excellent night’s sleep: The Official "Nosferatu" Sarcophagus bed.
Priced at $20,000 and sold by NBC, the full-size replica of the prop featured in Robert Eggers' upcoming “Nosferatu” is made to order, with a custom-fit mattress and “foam lid for easy opening at sundown.”
Though total production is not stated, the description says it is “limited run.” The replica weighs 250 pounds and is a whopping 97.75 inches in length, 36 inches wide and stands 46.5 inches high.
NBC says it will only take three days to arrive — however, there will be an added fee of around $7,000 for shipping, depending on your location.
Jocelyn Silver of Architectural Digest gave the Sarcophagus a test drive, reporting it was soft and comfortable, with the “nearly 4-foot-tall walls provid[ing] a comforting barrier against the world.”
The “Nosferatu” is slated for release this Christmas and is a remake of the classic 1922 German film of the same name. Rotten Tomatoes has given the movie a 94% rating, with “RogerEbert.com” giving it a 4/4 and calling it an “awesome achievement.”
Last month, the film became the latest to receive its own special edition popcorn bucket.
