Police say suspect left SoHo store with $9,710 in Pokémon and baseball cards

The New York City Police Department is currently searching for a man who stole nearly $10,000 worth of goods from Tom Brady's hobby shop.

The robbery occurred Oct. 20 at CardVault by Tom Brady on Lafayette Street in SoHo, just 12 days after the store opened to the public.

Authorities stated the man manually bypassed the denial on the store's credit-card machine after his personal card was denied. Police say he then left with approximately $9,710 worth of baseball and Pokémon cards.

“It’s an unfortunate part of our industry because of the value of what we sell," CardVault co-founder and managing partner Chris Costa tolld cllct. "There’s a full investigation underway and thankfully we have a great loss provention plan and team.”

No injuries were reported from the incident.

The store is the seventh location in the CardVault chain, and Brady is currently in the process of opening six new stores nationwide.
