Great moments lead to great collectibles.
The more compelling the storytelling around a moment, the more it becomes a piece of history collectors want to preserve and own.

Shohei Ohtani's 50th home run during the 2024 season was one of the most memorable moments of the year, making the Dodgers star the first player in baseball history to record 50 homers and 50 stolen bases in a single campaign. It also was part of a record day in which Ohtani went 6-for-6 with three homers, 10 RBIs, two steals and four runs scored.
Ohtani's 50th HR ball, still the subject of a lawsuit over its ownership, sold for $4.392 million at Goldin Auctions in October 2024, becoming the most valuable game-used baseball in hobby history.
Topps honored Ohtani's record '24 season with a 100-card set of 50-50 moments in 2024.
Now, more than 16 months later — a stretch that included two Dodgers' World Series titles and two NL MVP awards for Ohtani — that 50th homer is being commemorated on another Topps card, which is sure to be one of the year's hottest chases.
Ohtani's 2026 Topps Series 1 Baseball Red Refractor Auto /5 card depicts his celebration in Miami after launching his 50th HR during the Dodgers' 20-4 rout of the Marlins.
As the ball soared toward the stands in left-center field, Ohtani turned toward the Dodgers dugout and let out a scream, which is captured on the card.
You can bet the collectors who pull this card will express similar jubilation.
