We have a new record holder in the hobby.

Aaron Judge's 2013 Bowman Chrome Draft Pick Superfractor Auto 1/1 sold for $5.2 million via a private sale conducted by Fanatics Collect and Acquir.co, making the card the most expensive modern baseball card in history.

The deal was announced Thursday.

“We’re incredibly honored to have brokered this record-breaking deal — and to be part of such a momentous moment in hobby history,” Fanatics Collect said in a statement.

This card, which most recently sold for $324,000 in 2022, dethroned the Mike Trout 2009 Bowman Chrome Prospects Superfractor Auto 1/1, which sold for $3.84 million in August 2020.

Judge now joins Mickey Mantle, Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth as the only players in MLB history ever to have a card top $5 million. Notably, three of those players are New York Yankees.

And yet, despite how hard that club is to break into, there's a chance another Judge card could reach that threshold this month.

The 2025 Topps MVP 1/1 dual auto Logoman of Judge (reigning AL MVP) and Shohei Ohtani (reigning NL MVP) is currently sitting at $1.2 million with a week to go in the Fanatics Collect Auction.

As it sits, Judge's Superfractor 1/1 now sits tied for seventh on the list of most expensive sports cards of all time. Here is the full top 10. All sales have been confirmed via Card Ladder.
