With Super Bowl LIX pitting the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, cllct takes a look at the top sales for the skill positions to see how they match up.
Quarterback
- Patrick Mahomes: $4,300,000, 2017 National Treasures Platinum Shield 1/1 RPA (July 2021)
- Jalen Hurts: $144,000, 2020 Panini Black Finite Prizm 1/1 (December 2022)

No surprise here. Mahomes owns the most expensive sale for any NFL card in history with a sale during peak COVID pricing. Hurts’ $144,000 is nothing to scoff at, however, as he places behind only Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson among postseason quarterbacks from this season (tied with Jordan Love).
Still, the Chiefs take the quarterback slot by a wide margin.
Tight End
- Travis Kelce: $23,400, 2013 National Treasures Rookie Signature Materials NFL Shield Red 1/1 (February 2022)
- Dallas Goedert: $730, 2018 Panini Contenders Cracked Ice /24 (April 2019)
Another check in the Chiefs column here. Kelce is far and away the most collectible tight end in the league, while Goedert is hardly a sought-after name among collectors.
Wide Receiver
- Xavier Worthy: $5,200, 2022 Bowman University Gold Vinyl Auto 1/1 (October 2024)
- DeAndre Hopkins: $15,600, 2013 Panini Prizm Black Finite 1/1 (December 2024)
- Hollywood Brown: $5,000, 2019 Panini Absolute Kaboom Green 1/1 (May 2024)
Total: $25,800

- A.J. Brown: $3,450, 2019 National Treasures Stars & Stripes 3/3 RPA (September 2024)
- DeVonta Smith: $5,520, 2021 Panini Flawless Shield Patch Auto 1/1 (September 2024)
- Jahan Dotson: $1,885, 2022 Prizm Black Shimmer 1/1 (March 2023)
Total: $10,855
A theme seems to be emerging.
Running Back
- Kareem Hunt: $1,225, 2017 Donruss Optic Rated Rookie Auto /149 (October 2021)
- Saquon Barkley: $19,101, 2018 National Treasures Rookie Shield RPA 1/1 (December 2024)
Finally, the Eagles avoid the sweep thanks to Barkley, who is a rare example of a mid-career player to set an all-time high during the current season.
Totals
- Chiefs: $4,350,425
- Eagles: $174,686
Obviously swayed by the massive Mahomes sale, the Chiefs total more than $4.35 million when counting the top sales of their six skill position players, towering over less than $175,000 from the Eagles. Even when subtracting quarterbacks, the Chiefs still hold a lead with $50,425 against $30,686 for the Eagles.
