Within minutes of Carlos Alcaraz completing his historic comeback against Jannik Sinner to claim his second French Open title, collectors flocked to Goldin Auctions where the 22-year-old’s best card was sitting on the auction block.
When the day began, bidding on the autographed “Golden Slam” 1/1 NetPro rookie card had already surpassed the previous record high for an Alcaraz card of $33,665, with bidding reaching $35,380, including buyer’s premium.
Bidding on that card finally ended at $237,907 Saturday night to set a record for any Alcaraz card at public auction.
The sale at Goldin arrived just days after another Alcaraz card sold for $222,000 in Fanatics Collect's June Premier Auction. That card, a racket knob 1/1 from the 2024 Indian Wells Open, was briefly the most expensive card for any male tennis player.
The only tennis player with a more expensive card sale than Alcaraz is Serena Williams ($266,400).
