More than $2.6 billion spent on trading card singles on eBay in 2025

Michael Jordan, Shohei Ohtani, LeBron James were top three players in single-card sales

Trading card singles topped $2.62 billion in sales on eBay in 2025, according to a new report released by GemRate.

Collectors spent more than $1.78 billion on sports card singles and more than $837 million on TCG and non-sports card singles last year, per the report.

The data doesn’t include cards sold as lots, sets, packs or sealed wax.

Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan led all athletes with more than $70.5 million in sales, while Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani finished in second with nearly $58 million.

LeBron James ($30.6M), Kobe Bryant ($30.4M) and Victor Wembanyama ($30M) rounded out the top five.

Overall, GemRate tracked more than 42 million transactions for sports card singles on eBay in 2025 and more than 19.5 million TCG and non-sports. The average transaction tracked was $39 for sports card singles and $43 for TCG and non-sports.

Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg experienced the most positive volume change in December, with $3.87 million in sales representing a 190% increase month-over-month. Dodgers star Yoshinobu Yamamoto saw the biggest decline with his roughly $960,000 in sales representing a 65% decrease from November.

Combined sports card singles sales totaled $165 million in December, while TCG and non-sports totaled $86 million.
