In what should be absolutely no surprise, Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were the biggest winners in the card market following the Los Angeles Dodgers' second consecutive World Series title.

Among the baseball players tracked by data tool Market Movers, Ohtani (5.1k) and Yamamoto (4.2k) ranked first and second in total sales over the last seven days.

The next closest baseball player over that period was Paul Skenes with fewer than 1,000 total sales.

While Ohtani’s market slightly declined in price (-1.7%) over the last week, Yamamoto’s has surged nearly 20%.

The biggest price change driver over that period for Yamamoto was his 2024 Topps Chrome Update Autographs Gold Wave /50 PSA 10, which jumped more than $2,000 across two transactions within the last week.

Yamamoto’s most popular graded card over the last week was his 2024 Topps NOW No. 24 Base PSA 10, which sold eight times for an average of $54.

Yamamoto’s sales volume has been particularly strong over the last week, with those 4,200 sales representing roughly 14% of his total sales over the last 365 days.

Ohtani’s 5,100 sales over the last seven days represents less than 1% of his total sales volume over the last year — it’s important to note Ohtani is among the most popular athletes in the hobby, so comparing sales volume between the two Dodgers stars directly is more avocados-to-Labubus than apples-to-apples.

For Ohtani, the biggest win was at the high end, particularly the sale of his 2018 Topps Transcedent Superfractor Autograph BGS 9.5/10 for $542,900 at Goldin on Nov. 1. According to data tool Card Ladder, that result is the third-most paid for an Ohtani card of any kind

Also highlighting the high end was the $31,200 paid for the 2025 Topps NOW Foilfractor PSA 10 featuring Ohtani, Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki on Sunday at Fanatics Collect. That card is the second-most paid for any card featuring either Yamamoto or Sasaki.

Sasaki was also a winner from the World Series run to a lesser extent. Market Movers has tracked more than 450 sales for the Dodgers' right-hander over the last seven days. Those cards are up 5% collectively over that time period.

Outside of the Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a breakout postseason run. Market Movers tracked more than 900 sales for Guerrero Jr. over the last seven days with a 4% collective increase in price. Those 900 sales represent roughly 10% of Guerrero Jr.’s total sales volume tracked by Market Movers over the last 365 days.

Though far from a record, the most paid for a Guerrero Jr. card so far in 2025 was the $55,200 paid for his 2019 Topps Chrome Superfractor 1/1 at Fanatics Collect on Oct. 12.

Right behind Guerrero Jr. in terms of sales volume over the last week is Blue Jays rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage with more than 600 transactions, representing nearly 20% of his total sales tracked by Market Movers over the last 365 days.

Yesavage’s cards are up 37% collectively over the last week, including three different cards with more than 100 total transactions over that timeframe.
