PSA is increasing turnaround times for grading and authentication services due to high demand, the company announced Thursday.
The grader is also changing when estimated turnaround times begin, with the window now beginning when orders arrive at a PSA facility. Estimated turnaround times previously began when a submission was unboxed and itemized.
According to PSA, the change applies to all categories except autograph-only authentication, tickets and media grading, including video games, DVDs, CDs and Blu-rays.
New estimated turnaround times for are listed below for trading cards, packs and comics or magazines:
Trading cards:
- TCG Bulk: 65 business days to 95 business days
- Value Bulk: 65 business days to 95 business days
- Value: 45 business days to 75 business days
- Value Plus: 25 business days to 40 business days
- Value Max: 20 business days to 30 business days
- Regular: 15 business days to 20 business days
- Express: 10 business days to 15 business days
- Super Express: Five business days to seven business days
- Walkthrough: Five business days to seven business days
- Premium: Five business days to seven business days
Packs:
- Value: 90 business days to 125 business days
- Economy: 65 business days to 85 business days
- Express: 45 business days to 45 business days
- Premium: 30 business days to 30 business days
Comics and Magazines:
- Modern: 35 business days to 40 business days
- Modern Plus: 15 business days to 20 business days
- Vintage: 45 business days to 50 business days
- Vintage Plus: 20 business days to 25 business days
- High Value: 10 business days to 15 business days
- Express: 10 business days to 15 business days
- Super Express: Five business days to 10 business days
- Walkthrough: Five business days to 10 business days
- Premium: Five business days to 10 business days
PSA reports it has expanded its grading team significantly, with graders required to complete a training program that includes more than 13,000 test card trials.
The company also touts the opening of new grading centers in Boca Raton, Florida, and Plano, Texas, which it says has "dramatically" increased grading capacity. PSA also plans to open a European grading facility in 2026.
