The 2024 Panini Revolution Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Green Kaboom 1/1 sold for $432,000 at Fanatics Collect on Thursday night, becoming the most expensive card for the Thunder star to date.
The sale nearly doubled the previous record for any Gilgeous-Alexander card, which was held by the $228,000 paid for a 2018 National Treasures Logoman 1/1 in March 2023.
The new record for Gilgeous-Alexander was set as the former 11th overall pick competes for a second consecutive regular-season MVP award. Gilgeous-Alexander currently leads the league in total points scored this season (1,374) and total free throws made (351).
Created by Panini America in 2013, the Kaboom insert has become one of the most coveted chases during the ultra-modern era. Originally designed by Hungarian artist Gyula Nemeth, Kaboom’s comic-style illustrations were a significant pivot from traditional layouts that featured in-game photography.
