The print-to-demand Topps NOW program officially expanded to the NBA for the first time Wednesday with a series of cards following opening night of the 2025-26 NBA regular season.

Five cards, which include photographs of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun and Luka Dončić, will be available for purchase with an open print run until Oct. 24.

Topps NOW’s expansion closely follows Fanatics and Topps taking over the exclusive rights to make licensed NBA trading cards on Oct. 1. Panini America had been the exclusive rights holder for the league since 2009.

Topps NOW’s first NBA cards land a day before its first flagship trading card set under the new license with 2025-26 Topps Basketball planned to release Thursday. Dallas Mavericks wing and No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg was selected as the cover athlete for the set.

The NBA’s 2025-26 regular season tip-off, which included games between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets as well as the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, featured a series of major uniform updates.

Two of those updates arrived through collaborations with Topps and Fanatics for the Rookie Debut Patch and Gold Logoman programs. Previously used for MLB, MLS, UFC and WWE events, the debut patch series launched with a new patch design for the NBA. Those relics will be placed into 1/1 trading cards signed by the athlete.

Tuesday’s games also featured the NBA’s first Gold Logoman patches from Topps, which celebrate the previous season’s MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. Those patches will also go into a series of trading cards for an upcoming product.

Unrelated to Topps were the addition of trophy jersey patches for 35 players that won league awards last season. Gilgeous-Alexander’s jersey featured both a Gold Logoman and the trophy patch after winning last year’s MVP award.
