The first set of Premium League trading cards from the new licensing deal with Topps will arrive later this summer, Fanatics announced Thursday.

Topps Premier League 2025/26 Trading Cards will launch in three waves, with the product debuting Aug. 7 with a retail launch in the United Kingdom. An international and EU retail launch will follow Aug. 21, with hobby boxes arriving Sept. 17.

Additional configurations will be released in the fall with the Countdown Calendar Exclusive (Sept. 25) and a Golden Boot Tin (Oct. 2).

According to Topps, players from all 20 clubs will be included across current players and past legends.

Inserts include the Chrome King Legend cards, which focus on top players from the past. “Ultra-rare” parallels and autographs are included.

Gold Lion inserts are considered “Semi-Rare” and are printed with a liquid-silver finish. Additional chases include “Mega-Rare” Premier Pull Cards, “Super-Rare” autographs and the “Ultra-Rare” Diamond Rookie Cards.

Diamond Rookies are short-printed and include only 10 of the league’s top rookie prospects.

Following six years with Panini America, the Premier League agreed to an exclusive multi-year deal with Fanatics Collectibles to produce trading cards and stickers in 2024. Topps was an official partner of the Premier League from 1994 to 2019.

An important addition to a soccer portfolio that includes the Bundesliga, Major League Soccer and UEFA, the Premier League was described as a “crown jewel” by David Leiner, Fanatics Collectibles’ president of trading cards, in an interview with cllct in 2024.

“This is a big deal for us,” Leiner told cllct last year. “On a global basis, you have arguably the top domestic league in football in the Premier League — some of the top-tier clubs, top-tier players in the world. So, this is absolutely massive.”

Topps’ newest Premier League set arrives alongside growing interest for soccer cards on the secondary market. Card Ladder’s soccer index, which tracks the market for nearly 1,900 cards, is up 19% over the past year. The index’s current score of 6,526 is its highest since June 2023.

Some of the increased interest in the soccer market has also been driven by Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal — his 2024 Topps Chrome UEFA Euro Yamal Superfractor 1/1 sold for $396,500 at Goldin Auctions in June to set a record for any Yamal card at public auction.

According to Card Ladder, Yamal has had five public sales of $50,000 or more and two sales of $100,000 or more so far in 2025. Of Yamal’s top 20 public sales, 18 have been cards manufactured by Topps.
