Cooper Flagg might not play his first real NBA game for more than two months, but that hasn’t stopped collectors from snatching up — and paying top dollar for — any and every piece of memorabilia with the phenom’s name associated with it.

The latest and most shocking example came Tuesday at Sotheby’s, when Flagg’s Summer League debut jersey sold for $95,250.

The price for the Dallas Mavericks rookie's first jersey marks an all-time record for any Summer League jersey, as well as any Flagg item. Last month, Flagg’s NBA Draft Combine jersey sold for $22,860, also at Sotheby’s.

Flagg wore the jersey in the July opener against the Lakers. He went 5-for-21 from the field and 0-for-5 from 3-point range during the game, recording 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

He later said “that might be one of the worst games of my life.”

That certainly didn't matter to collectors.

Over the past 60 days, there has been nearly $285,000 in sales spent on Flagg cards, according to data tool Market Movers. To date, his top sale for a card is $97,600.

The best collectible comparison for Flagg at this stage is Victor Wembanyama, who was the subject of similar hype and speculation in the memorabilia world early in his career. In November 2023, shortly after the start of his rookie season, Wembanyama’s NBA debut jersey, worn in one half of the game, sold for $762,000.

Flagg’s NBA debut jersey, assuming its sold through Sotheby’s as the NBA’s official game-worn partner, could challenge the record-setting Wembanyama result.
