The regular season is less than one week old and it’s already clear something is different about Victor Wembanyama.

From the improved shotmaking to the transition ballhandling, Wembanyama has leveled up in several areas, and it’s quickly becoming problematic for the rest of the league.

What hasn’t changed much, however, is his grip on the sports card hobby. He’s been the most collectible active basketball player since his debut, and it’s hard to see anyone catching him.

Data tool Market Movers has tracked more than 6,800 sales for Wembanyama over the last seven days, which is easily the most among active basketball players. Mavericks rookie and No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg is second among active players with more than 4,100 sales tracked over that same period.

Even more impressive than Wembanyama’s sales volume is the growth of his market over the last week, with the cards tracked by Market Movers up nearly 16% collectively in price. The biggest driver of that change has been Wembanyama’s 2023 Prizm Base PSA 10, which has increased more than 45% from roughly $94 one week ago to nearly $140 across 249 sales.

Wembanyama’s 2023 Prizm Silver PSA 10 has been a major factor, too, jumping 62% in price from roughly $1,000 to more than $1,600 across more than 130 sales over the last week.

Despite being a third-year card, one new issue making a difference for Wembanyama’s market is his 2025 Topps All Kings insert. The 2025-26 Topps Basketball set is the first flagship licensed NBA product from the manufacturer since 2009, and the All Kings set is considered a super short-print chase. Market Movers has tracked three sales for Wembanyama’s All Kings insert over the last week with the most recent eclipsing $2,400.

According to data tool Card Ladder, Wembanyama’s market has been aggressively climbing over the last week and has now reached its highest value since March 2024.

Though Wembanyama’s market is still a far cry from when his cards first hit the secondary market, his portfolio over the last year is still significantly stronger than any other active basketball player — even stars such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry and last year’s MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Over the last year, Market Movers has tracked more 200,000 sales for Wembanyama’s cards, which easily outpaces LeBron James’ more than 72,000 sales in second place among active players. He’s been the most graded player by PSA over the last year, too, with nearly 200,000 authenticated.

There’s a reason cllct named Wembanyama the most collectible basketball player prior to the season tipping off last week.

And based on early returns, that isn’t changing anytime soon.
