The NFL's annual "My Cause My Cleats" initiative kicked off with the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans.
Throughout Week 12, players will showcase causes close to their heart with customized cleats.
In the Thursday game, reigning league MVP Josh Allen is wearing cleats dedicated to the patients at Oishei Children's Hospital (OCH) in Buffalo.
"Josh Allen's (are) always special," said Alex Katz, founder of Stadium Custom Kicks.
The Bills quarterback has done an immense amount of work with OCH, which has come even more into the spotlight this season with his partnership with New Era. Every home game, Allen wears a New Era hat designed by different patients at OCH. Those hats are then auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Patricia Allen Fund (named after Allen's grandmother) to benefit critical care teams at OCH.
In Thursday's game, Allen got the opportunity to celebrate the kids and their artistic abilities with his kicks. The cleats, which were designed by Stadium Custom Kicks, are an accumulation of 11 different designs from patients at OCH.
